Pablo's Pizza, Grand Junction

Pablo's Pizza on historic Main St in downtown Grand Junction is a fun place. It's a nice location along the pedestrian-friendly street. It has that good mountain west vibe, almost ski-town feel, with a small, but decent beer list.

What I ate: Medium pizza, half pepperoni and half mushroom

Rating: 3 stars out of 5

The pizza was thin crust and thankfully didn't have to sell itself as "New York Style" thin crust. How novel? I enjoyed the sauce, which means it was good. On many pizzas the sauce is indistinguishable from the rest of the pie. This can be good or bad. Here the distinguishable sauce was good.

I ate a pepperoni slice first and the pie was off to a good start. The slices were cut small, easy to eat, and I was happy to have another slice. The mushroom slice was not as good. The crust was a little doughy. I guess the pepperoni overshadowed the doughy crust. The pie stayed consistent over several slices, decent pepperoni slice and mediocre mushroom slice.

This was a good pie, but not great. I was satisfied, but if was on Main St. again I would try another one of the many local restaurants before going back to Pablo's.

There's a Pablo's in Fort Collins as well, so it works for the Front Range.

Have you been to the Fort Collins one? What did you think?
