This was a very good deep dish pizza. 4 stars. |
Colorado’s biggest weakness may be its lack of great pizza.
There is plenty of good, satisfying pizza; pizza that you’re more than happy to
eat repeatedly. But not really great pizza; that pizza that is so good that you want to have it every week. I’ve lived in Colorado since 2005 and still haven’t found it. Prior to
moving to Colorado I always had one or more pizza places in my neighborhood that I would happily go to every week. I love pizza and this is upsetting, because I love living in Colorado.
So that’s what I’m looking for, pizza so good that I want to
have it every week. This blog is devoted to that search and to sampling and
reviewing the Colorado pizza culture. I hope to entertain and enlighten you as I partake on this pizza tour.
Regarding the name, The Front Range Pizza Guru, I feel it's a good description. I've lived in the Colorado Front Range since 2005, primarily on the west side of Denver. Most of my reviews will be of pizza places along the Front Range from Fort Collins south to Colorado Springs. Don't worry high country, western slope, or southwest Colorado, I won't forget to review your pizza. As for the Guru part, a Guru is a teacher or guide with a certain knowledge. If you enjoy pizza and live in Colorado, I hope to be your Pizza Guru to guide you and me on my journey.
I rate pizza on a 5 star scale, which is described below. My reviews are based solely on the pizza. A pleasant setting, value, and company can create a more enjoyable experience, but they won’t influence the rating. It doesn’t matter if the pizza comes from a bar, Italian restaurant, food truck, or a gas station.
- 5 – I want to eat this pizza every week. Let’s come back tomorrow! (If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm still looking for a 5 Star pizza in Colorado.)
- 4 – It’s very good, I'm satisfied, and I’d be happy to come back again.
- 3 – Good, satisfying, I’d eat this again, but what else is out there?
- 2 – Not my style.
- 1 – I like pizza, but this is not good.
Where's your favorite pizza place in Colorado? Send my your suggestions and I'll try to get there and let you know what I think.
