Garlic Knot Pizza, Westminster

I've seen the Garlic Knot around town; it's a chain throughout the Denver area. I've never been inclined to eat there as my "pizza senses" always led me elsewhere. But it was lunch, I was hungry, and knew I was close to one. Being the Guru, I gave it a shot.

My first impression, "Here we go again with the, "New York Style Pizza"." My second impression, upon entering the restaurant, was good. It actually did feel like a NY/NJ pizza place.

What I ate: A slice of pepperoni, with a side Caesar salad and a drink - one of their lunch specials.

Rating: 2 Stars out of 5.
  • The slice was thicker than what I expected as a typical NY slice of pizza. That was good. I don't like the super slim, greasy slices.
  • It was a satisfying slice and the first two bites were on pace for a 3 star slice. By the time I was done, it was just another slice.
  • I was glad I didn't get a second slice.
  • A day later, I realized I have no plans to eat there again.
  • Those 3 points above are the exact definition of a 2 star slice.
The Caesar salad included in the lunch special was good, which made for a satisfying lunch. If you're driving past a Garlic Knot and have a craving for a slice, go in and it will fix that craving. I wouldn't make a special trip here for a special pizza.

Have you been to a different Garlic Knot? If so, what did you think?

  1. we get Garlic Knot here at the office a couple times a month. we order a pizza made to order, I am guessing the lunch special slices were made at some point during the morning. I would agree with you its not the best out there, but I think it is one of the better ones around this area.
